[Simon let's Gabe move about, come to, he's learned before that suddenly touching him can be a very bad thing when he's not all there it ended up being a good thing but shhh shut up. Also maybe he's pretty sore himself, the effort to drag Gabriel's ass to the bunker had strained muscles Simon didn't know he had.]
Bunker, some crazy end of the world bunker.
[He huffs, fingers pulling a sticky sweet peach slice out of the can as he eats it. Licking at his fingers to clean them he'll offer some to Gabe, tipping the can at him.]
Not so crazy anymore.
[Gabriel will hear other voices, see people walk by the door of the room they're in. Maybe a young girl peeks her head in, hand curled on the frame of the door staring at this strange new man. At least before an adult woman comes over to tug her away gently, but not without giving a wary look to Gabriel.]
[ Now that he's come to fully, Gabriel decides it's time to stop moving, lest he break something else. Even so, being forced to remain still in a place he's unfamiliar with around strangers is a frustratingly helpless feeling. He regards everyone who walks by and glances in suspiciously — yes, even the child.
He hesitates, but his mouth is dry and his stomach empty. He reaches for the can, pulling his arm back and wincing with a groan of pain. It somehow hurts more now than it did before he passed out. ]
[ Gabriel regards the peach slice, looking about ready to turn his nose up at it, but once again...he's hungry and thirsty and too tired to be his usual stubborn self. At least, not as badly stubborn as he normally would be. Maybe their previous...meeting...helps a little. With a perfect stranger, Gabriel would never allow himself to appear vulnerable. But one, he's almost certain Simon won't use that against him. And two, Simon already saw him go down like a sack of shit. So that ship has sailed.
He debates trying to lift his arm again, but even just the thought alone hurts, so instead he leans in to take the slice between his lips. ]
[What ones might not be broken, if Gabriel is lucky. Any other time this would be... really super gay, but Gabe is hurt and in a lot of pain and really Simon just wants to make sure he's taken care of. It's not like they don't have some utensils down here, but he'd not thought to bother grabbing a fork. It would be something to clean and his fingers worked just fine for him. Guess they would work for Gabriel as well. After he gets the first slice in, he makes sure to wipe up any stick juice, bringing his thumb and fingers to his own mouth with little thought, sucking his thumb clean, before he's glancing at Gabe realizing what he's doing.
Whoops. Oh well, it's not like they've not swapped spit before anyway.]
... I was a doctor before.
[Said after he clears his throat a bit, pulls another slice out. He takes a bite of half of it, then offers the other to Gabe.]
[ Gabriel already felt a type of way eating from Simon's hand, but believe it or not, seeing the way Simon licks his thumb clean after wiping peach juice from his mouth doesn't bother him. In fact, he finds himself staring a little as he chews on the slice, licking his lips after he swallows.
[ The look on Gabriel's face suggests that he is not amused. The idea of being on "bed rest" for an indefinite amount of time is absolutely horrifying. Not a lot fills him with much anxiety nowadays, forcing himself to be numb to what the world has become, but this comes pretty damn close.
He leans in as much as he can, but thankfully Simon already seems aware of how much leeway he needs here. He is a doctor, so guess that makes sense. ]
I've been in worse shape than this.
[ Already exhibiting the signs of a difficult patient... ]
[Simon takes a sip of water too, capping it and sits cross legged now, having another slice of peach. He can tell Gabriel isn't thrilled about this, he doesn't exactly hide it.]
That's great, but you know what? If you rest, you'll heal... faster.
[He can't imagine what could be worse than almost being stomped to death outside of a burning cabin, but okay.]
[ He speaks clearly, sternly, as if there's a reason for his insistence that he refuses to clarify. That's because it's more "I don't want to stay here" than it is "I can't stay here." ]
You would have attracted attention too close to my camp.
[ That is the reason he Saved Simon and that is the only reason he saved Simon. That's what he's trying desperately to get across, at least. Gabriel huffs, somehow that ends up hurting, but all he does is wince as he tries to readjust himself the tiniest bit. ]
[A heavy sigh with a roll of his eyes. What a fucking idiot.]
You put a lot of effort into stuff for a man who wants to die.
[All the traps and different camps, how he hunted. That wasn't a man who wanted to die. Not in Simon's eyes. His voice hushes more for them, in case anyone walks by. There's little to no privacy here.]
And fucking me? Was that some special technique that spooks off curious theives?
[Woooooooooooooooooooooow. The audacity. Simon snorts, looks away as he has another sip of water.]
You were terrible.
[He would have insulted his dick and said it was tiny, but that was just objectively untrue. He wouldn't be able to say it with a straight face, not even a little.]
[ Gabriel regards the bottle of water suspiciously. Maybe he's expecting to get whacked on the head with the way he's behaving, but after a moment he inches his head forward to take a sip of water.
Licking his dry lips when he's done: ]
Please, you said. [ Sorry Simon. His memory is too damn good to have this pulled on him. ]
[He'd be embarrassed, but honestly in this new world what is there to be embarrassed about? So he scoffs lightly, setting the bottle aside, picks up that can of peace slices again. There's a few more in there and Gabriel really should eat more than just this, but it's a start.]
Pretty sure it was "Harder"—
[And he holds a sticky sweet slice to Gabriel's lips with a little smirk.]
Maybe this backfired a bit, images flashing in his mind along with sounds, touch, feeling, all with perfect clarity, as if it were happening at this moment. A curse. Especially these days when he needs his mind to be in the present.
He reaches for the rubber band that dangles from his wrist, wincing from the quickness of that movement — all that pain for nothing, seeing as it's not on his wrist. ]
Shit—[ he turns his head from the peach slices like a child refusing to eat, face contorting in pain as he feels around his arm and wrist. ] Where the fuck is-agh, puñeta.
[ At least the pain pulled him out of the moment, so there's that! ]

[Simon fishes out a slice of peach and holding the can under it so it doesn't leak on Gabe as he offers it to him. Yes he'll feed you.]
Unfortunately x-rays are kind've hard to come by now.

[Turning slightly to reach for the bottle of water he winces. Oooh he's sore. Muscles don't like this moving thing.]
For your prize you get— water!
[Simon uncaps it and holds it close for him to sip. He doesn't want him to strain more than he needs to.]
So since I saved your life and now that I'm your doctor, I'm putting you on bed rest.
[A cheeky smile. Not like Gabriel can move much without threatening to black out again from the pain.]
